Dairy Program

The dairy industry leads the list of 1999 income producrs for Lebanon county. The 20,000 dairy cows produced 360,000,000 pounds of milk valued at $56,410,000. This places Lebanon county 6th in Pennsylvania.

Milk production in Pennsylvania during May, 2002 totaled 957 million pounds, down 0.1 per cent from last year's production. The number of milkcows in the state averaged 580,000 head, down 1000 head from April and down 19,000 head from a year ago.
